twi<br \/>\n-light claws; rainbow salmon scales<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">I was once an aging man;<br \/>\nsat, watching them deliver<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Our whole universe;<br \/>\ndark, backed into the soil<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">And one time when an old skin<br \/>\nhad rotted blue on me,<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">I was a snake,<br \/>\na night-time birch,<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">an elderly mother<br \/>\nof three sunk girls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">They were pink skin<br \/>\nand purple-seahorse curls<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">I was once the mastodon<br \/>\nin children\u2019s crayon scrawls<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Once the liver leaking bubble<br \/>\non the knife and board,<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">or the feather fallen<br \/>\nonto Morecambe Bay<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Mango Bruise<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>(a sonnet)<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\">Inside my right thigh<br \/>\nthere is a Neptune bruise<br \/>\nturning to<br \/>\nred moon and<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Sparse constellations<br \/>\nin the pores,<br \/>\ndrying blood<br \/>\nclotting stars<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">And a sweet hurt<br \/>\nevery time<br \/>\nI send a finger<br \/>\ninto space<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">This mango bruise\u00a0 \u00a0 each day\u00a0 \u00a0 gets more<br \/>\nand more, sunny at the heart<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Poppy Bruise<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\">It came<br \/>\nas someone else\u2019s poppy bruise, but<br \/>\nnow has blued into a sort of<br \/>\nNeptune on my inner thigh<br \/>\nbattle wound<br \/>\nstarship badge for<br \/>\nshowing off<br \/>\nfor falling off the bike, now<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Fading\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0slow<br \/>\ninto dispersing constellations of<br \/>\ndry blood in pores:<br \/>\nclotting stars<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Sometimes, I like to reach a finger out<br \/>\nand press into the sky<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All Blue Things I was once a chicken heart;
